SAT Preparatory help

Databases by Topic  a list of databases by subject, available to library patrons through Clinton Essex Franklin Library System. Subjects include General, Newspapers, Science,  Literature, and more. 

Ancestry full access is available from the library computers only due to licensing restrictions. However, the NY State library offers free access to the New York portion of through the New York State Library's website.

Heritage Quest (PPL patrons only) This is a premium database which allows you to research your ancestry through America's largest commercial genealogy archive.

Newspaper Source Plus (PPL patrons only) New database with access to hundreds of daily newspapers. Not all are available full text, but many are. (Available to Plattsburgh Public patrons only due to licensing restrictions )

Mergent Investors Edge is a new Business and Investing database made possible with Tillson Trust Funds.

New York State Newspapers: Search this database of ten major newspapers published in the state of New York, including the New York Times and the New York Post.

Library of Congress is the largest library in the world, with many online exhibits and collections, including: is the official website for federal legislation information including schedules, current and past legislation,  and member and committee information.

Digital Public Library of America provides access to digitized materials from libraries, archives, and museums from around the country.  

OWL at Purdue Online Research and Citation Guides shows how to cite in MLA, APA, and Chicago styles.

NYS Historic Newspapers is a free site with over 6 million digitized pages of New York state newspapers. Search or browse by location, newspaper, keywords, and dates.

New York Heritage is a free research portal to over 170 digital collections of historic, scholarly, and cultural materials from New York institutions.

City of Plattsburgh Calendar helps you find out what's going on in Plattsburgh.
