LearningExpressLibrary LearningExpress Library is a comprehensive, interactive online learning platform of practice tests and tutorial course series designed to help patrons—students and adult learners—succeed on the academic or licensing tests they must pass. In order to sign on, you will need to use your 14 digit barcode as the user name and choose your own password.

NY Online VirtualElectronic Library: NOVEL NY is free to NY State residents with a NY State Driver License or Non-Driver Photo ID.

Newspaper Source Plus: New database with access to hundreds of daily newspapers. Not all are available full text, but many are. (Available to Plattsburgh Public patrons only due to licensing restrictions. Log in is required with library card barcode.)

Value Line: This database is available only to Plattsburgh Public Library card holders. 

Heritage Quest:
This database is available only to Plattsburgh Public Library card holders

Ancestry full access is available within the library only. However, the NY State library offers free access to the New York portion of through the New York State Library’s website.

Academic OneFile: This database contains over 12,000 journals and reference sources, many of which are peer-reviewed and full text. It has extensive coverage of the physical sciences, technology, medicine, social sciences, the arts, theology, literature and more. The database also contains some full text titles that are cited in databases such as AGRICOLA, CINAHL, EconLit, ERIC, MEDLINE, MLA International Bibliography, PsycINFO and others.
Gale Virtural Reference Library: Reference books are now digital and cover everything from biography, business, environment, history, literature, medicine, multicultural studies, our nation and the world, religion, science and social issues. All sources are full-text, available 24/7, translatable into 11 languages, offer text-to-speech capability and options to print, email and download articles. (You may also access this site from home, but you will be prompted for your library card number.)

General OneFile: (Provided by NOVEL NY) This general periodical database contains over 12,000 periodicals, newspapers, reference books and multimedia sources, over half of which are full text. The backfile extends nearly 30 years. Subjects include humanities, education, environmental issues, technology, health care, politics and more.

Health Reference Center Academic: (Provided by NOVEL NY) This health database includes over 2,800 journals and magazines, many of which are full text. It contains nursing and allied health journals, other medical journals, newsletters and consumer health magazines.
US Healthcare (via ReferenceUSA): When looking for detailed information on 675,000 doctors and 180,000 dentists, turn to ReferenceUSA's HealthCare Database. It's the only medical database that contains 100% phone-verified information. This database is provided for your use by Eastern Adirondack Health Care Network in partnership with Plattsburgh Public Library.

InfoTrac Custom Newspapers: Get the scoop with an innovative Web-based, full-text ASCII-formatted newspaper database that lets you electronically search articles by title, headline, date, author, section or other assigned fields.
National Newspaper Index: Provides quick access to the indexing of America's top five newspapers in one seamless search. The New York Times Book Review and The New York Times Magazine are also included.
New York State Newspapers: Search this database of ten major newspapers published in the state of New York, including the New York Times and the New York Post.

Catalog of Nonprofit Literature

Encyclopedia Britannica (and Encyclopedia Britannica Kids): One of the most authoritative information sources in the world, with over 73,000 articles, 2,000 video clips, 4,000 quotations, a world atlas and timeline, entries from the Merriam- Webster Collegiate Dictionary and Thesaurus, recommended websites, current magazine and journal articles, and image and sound files.  A friendly kids' interface is included.
