Click here  and select login or my account then enter your 14-digit barcode number from your library card and your 4-digit pin number. This brings you to your account page. You can see what books you have out and what books you have requested. You can access your eBook and Audiobook accounts from the Library Catalog page as well.


LIBRARY CARD REGISTRATION

Any person coming into the Library may use the collection within the building free of charge.  Persons wishing to borrow materials for home use are required to register with the Library to obtain a library card.

 Registration is free to any legal resident of Clinton, Essex, or Franklin counties; and to all property owners within the system area, upon the presentation of a picture ID and proof of residence. 

Library cards permitting full use of the circulating resources of the Library are issued as follows:

Adult library cards are issued to persons 18 years of age and over, not classified as a college student, after filling out a registration card and providing proof of residency.  Proof of residency can be any of the following items as long as it has a current address on the item:

  • Valid driver’s license
  • Rent receipt or lease 
  • Bank statement
  • Electric bill
  • Phone bill

Juvenile library cards are issued to children under 18 years of age after filling out a registration card.  A parent or legal guardian’s signature is required for registration of children under 18 years of age.  Verification of a child’s address shall be through a parent’s registration in Horizon, or I.D. Each child must include his parent’s name on the registration card.

College student library cards are issued to students after filling out a registration card and presenting a College I.D. card and proof of residency. If the student is attending Plattsburgh State, a document from the college showing permanent home address is required.

Non-Resident library cards are issued to all other persons who are not legal residents of Clinton, Essex, or Franklin counties may register to borrow materials for a $10 per year fee.   Non-residents shall include persons whose planned stay in the area is three months or less.  Canadians living in Quebec Province are also required to pay the non-resident fee.  

Registrations are good for three years, and must be renewed every three years. Please let us know if your contact information changes.

First-time borrowers are allowed to borrow three books only the first time they check out materials.


FORGOT YOUR PIN?

The default pin number is the last four digits of your phone number on record. If you have any questions, call the library and we will be happy to help. You can now change your pin by logging on to your account and going to “Change PIN” or you can request to change your pin number at any time by contacting the library.


REQUESTS

Once you have found the book, you may place a request for it by clicking on the request bar. Enter your 14-digit barcode number from your library card and your 4-digit pin number (it’s the last four digits of your phone number when registered). Then, confirm your request. We will email or call you to let you know when the book is delivered to the Plattsburgh Public Library.


RENEW ITEMS

From your account page, click on “Items out.” Check those to be renewed. Click on “renew.”

  • Books (including paperbacks) circulate for a 28-day period and may be renewed once. 
  • New books may be borrowed for 14 days and may be renewed if no one is waiting for the title

EBOOK SIGN IN

From the Overdrive page, click on the tab Account and enter your 14 digit library barcode and your password. This will take you to your account page which will show your checkouts, holds and number of checkouts remaining.
